Workspace and Chat

Understand the main work area of Arkitec and how chat sessions are used.

What this part does

The workspace and chat area is the center of Arkitec. This is where you open a folder, start sessions, ask questions, attach files, and work against real project context.

Workspace

The workspace is the local folder Arkitec is currently using.

Why it matters:

  • it gives the agent real project context
  • it keeps work tied to the correct folder
  • it makes outputs easier to organize and review

Chat sessions

Each task should usually have its own session.

Good examples:

  • review this codebase
  • summarize this project
  • draft a report from these files
  • compare these documents

This keeps work cleaner than using one long chat for everything.

File attachments

If the task depends on specific files, attach them in the composer so the session has the right context.

Best practice

Use one workspace for one real folder and one session for one real task.
